How would you capture what a city leaves behind each day? 👣

Greater New York artist Yuji Agematsu has cultivated a daily practice of walking and collecting scraps of debris—chewed gum, foil, bottle caps, feathers, thread—from city streets since 1980 when he moved to New York City from Japan. Yuji delicately packages those foraged treasures into cellophane cigarette wrappers, which become small sculptures known as "zips."

In our latest Artists Make New York video, we walk the streets of Dumbo with Yuji to see what the city has left behind.
